| Poor Superannuation Savings for Women | 11 July 2007 |
According to research from the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) the average superannuation balances for women are less than half that of men's balances. On average, the balance for men is $56,400 compared to women with $23,900 in their accounts. Obviously, this will lead to many women achieving only a very moderate stand of living in retirement.
